BT presents its 2025 Sustainability Report, reaffirming its commitment to transparency, social responsibility and long-term value creation: “We have chosen to prepare this report even though we are not subject to mandatory reporting requirements, because we believe in transparency and responsibility towards all our stakeholders,” says Aristide Radaelli, CEO and Founder of BT. “We know that sustainability cannot be measured by a single year or a single report: it is a process of continuous improvement that requires commitment, the ability to listen and shared responsibility.”
After formalising its approach to sustainability in 2024, BT strengthened the connection between strategic objectives, processes and daily activities in 2025, consolidating its monitoring of energy consumption, emissions and material flows.
Within the company’s energy mix, the contribution from renewable sources increased from 95.4 to 334.5 MWh. The energy, generated by three photovoltaic systems — two in Lesmo (MB) and one in Carnate (MB) — is partly used for self-consumption and partly fed into the grid. To increase the production and use of green energy, BT intends to expand its installations and source electricity from renewable sources.
The waste generated, all classified as non-hazardous, decreased to 570.8 tonnes, 64% less than in 2024, with 55% sent for recovery. Although water consumption in production is not significant, BT has adopted responsible water management systems: a rainwater harvesting tank in Lesmo and an evaporator in Carnate, which recovers approximately 90% of the water used.
This commitment also extends to people and employment stability. In 2025, BT recorded 24 new hires and 10 departures: compared with 2024, the hiring rate increased from 9% to 11.5%, while the employee turnover rate decreased from 7% to 5.3%. One third of new hires are under 30, confirming the company’s focus on younger generations, while the proportion of permanent employment contracts remained stable at 96%, reflecting its commitment to providing continuity and long-term prospects.
A distinctive feature of BT is its in-house, vertically integrated production: design, foundry operations, machining and finishing are combined in a production chain that ensures direct control and a high degree of customisation. Together with its reliance on predominantly domestic suppliers, this model supports the company’s sustainability journey by facilitating process oversight and enhancing the value of the local supply chain.
