At the Angelo Maj nursing home in Darfo Boario Terme, outdoor spaces become places to enjoy and share. Seven R601 Pergoklima bioclimatic pergolas by BT provide shade and shelter, improving the comfort of the ground-floor café and social area and the terraces on the upper floors, close to the guests’ rooms.
The project was managed by C.D.A. di Appolonia of Pisogne, from design through to installation, as part of the energy efficiency renovation carried out by IMET S.r.l. of Gianico. BT supported its partner with site surveys and the development of the technical solutions, adapting the covers to the different areas of the residence.
Three modules for a 22-metre terrace
On the first floor, just three modules cover approximately 22 metres in length, reducing the number of intermediate elements and preserving the visual continuity of the space. The terrace thus becomes a more welcoming environment for relaxation and family visits, providing shade on summer days and shelter from the rain.
Tailored light and comfort
The adjustable louvres, which rotate from 0° to 140°, make it possible to regulate natural light and shade throughout the day. The insulated double-chamber profile contributes to the thermal and acoustic comfort of the space below.
All the pergolas are equipped with a rain sensor. Those in the café area also feature dimmable LED lighting, allowing the outdoor spaces to be enjoyed in the evening.
More space for everyday well-being
Surrounded by greenery on the hillside above the Boario thermal baths, with views of the mountains, the Angelo Maj nursing home accommodates more than 100 residents and places the well-being of older people at the heart of its approach.
The design of BT bioclimatic pergolas and the tailor-made planning blend with the architecture and landscape, making the outdoor areas more enjoyable and offering guests new opportunities to spend time outdoors and together.
